I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia some 2 years ago and the consultant recommended pilates. I was unsure at first but I have to say that Tracy’s easy going, fun and inclusive style quickly eased any initial apprehension I had. Whilst my fibro hasn’t gone away the level of pain has eased a great deal and is now more manageable. I am also more flexible (can even touch my toes on a good day) have much better core strength and have little or no back pain (unconnected to the fibro). Even my golf swing has improved! After suffering from back problems (bulging discs and osteo-arthritis) for over 4 years I finally had a caudal epidural and my facet joints injected under x-ray. My consultant recommended I take Pilates classes – in fact he insisted – to help the road to recovery and then maintain a healthy back.
I took a number of private classes first to ensure I did not over-do things and get my technique right and then I joined the Improvers class run by Tracy. I have found Tracy to be a very knowledgeable and professional teacher who constantly checks your technique and amends as appropriate. The classes are challenging but enjoyable and the benefit to me has been enormous. Tracy is always supportive and ensures you do not over-stretch or put your back in jeopardy. She is very experienced and is an inspiration to everyone in the class.
Over the months I have been able to improve the flexibility in my back and feel more confident with exercise. After suffering for so long it can be quite daunting to try and ‘move’ your back again as you don’t want to ‘tempt fate’.
I supplement the weekly classes with home-exercise and 9 months after my operation I have not had any recurrence of the intense pain I suffered with previously.
I would highly recommend Tracy’s classes and intend to continue with them myself so that I can maintain a healthier back in the future.

I am 37 years old and have had lower back pain since my early 20’s. I have always enjoyed keeping fit but a few years ok my back became so excruciatingly painful that it was hindering my fitness.
2 1/2 years ago a good friend recommended trying Tracy’s pilates class and I have not looked back. My body especially my back is stronger, my posture is totally different and my confidence in what I can do has grown. Tracy’s knowledge and attention to detail is outstanding and her enthusiasm for what she does is infectious.
